Phalanx Armor is a type of Armor used by the Union. It is heavy armor, and is used on their defense-based ships. A variant, Parapet Armor (Often referred to as Light Phalanx Armor), also exists, for use on the Union's attack ships. Parapet armor is much lighter than Phalanx armor, and also provides less protection.
Composition[]
Phalanx Armor and it's subtype, Parapet Armor, are both made up of several layers to provide resistance to kinetic, thermal, and explosive impacts.
Phalanx Armor[]
The layers of one meter of Phalanx armor are as follows.
- 40 centimeters of ceramic armor.
- 20 centimeters of ???, laced with carbon nanotubes.
- 20 centimeters of shock-absorbing ballistics gel.
- 20 centimeters of ???, laced with carbon nanotubes.
Parapet Armor[]
The layers of one meter of Parapet armor are as follows.
- 20 centimeters of ceramic armor.
- 30 centimeters of ???, laced with carbon nanotubes.
- 30 centimeters of shock-absorbing ballistics gel.
- 20 centimeters of ???, laced with carbon nanotubes.
